Gulf Island National Seashore, Navarre Beach, Florida

Saturday, June 25, 2016

On a hot summer day, there's nothing like heading to the beach to enjoy the fresh salty air and the soothing Gulf waters.  So, we headed to Gulf Island National Seashore in Navarre Beach, Florida.  Navarre Beach is located on Santa Rosa Island which is a barrier island in the Gulf.  It's just east of Pensacola.  This is the location where much of the 1978 movie Jaws II was filmed.

We managed to find a few shells along the beach.  Most of the really good shells are a little farther out in the gulf.  Since we didn't have a snorkel and fins, we left them for another time.

It's worth checking this place out if you find yourself in this area.
