Wolfies Campground in Zanesville, Ohio

Thursday, September 5, 2013

We left White River Campground in Cicero, Indiana around 9:30 am heading south on SR-37 to I-69 South to I-465 South, around Indianapolis, to I-70 East.  We weren't looking forward to the 250 mile drive which will take us about 5 hours with stops.  We drove a couple of hours, then stopped in a rest area and had lunch.  After lunch we continued on I-70 east arriving in Zanesville, Ohio around 3:30 pm.

We are staying at Wolfies Campground.  It has 46 full hook up sites, a tent area, three cabins for rent, a swimming pool and an immaculate laundry room.  Wolfies is a neat, well kept campground, and the sites are fairly level despite being built on a hillside.  We intended to stay only 3 days, so they gave us a pull through site.  We don't have much space between sites in the pull through area.

We are in site #36

Here's a view from the top of our hill

Zanesville, Ohio is about 50 miles east of Columbus, Ohio, and is situated along the Muskingum River.  This area is hilly and heavily forested.  Our original plan was to spend the weekend here, then depart on Sunday and continue toward Gettysburg, PA.  But, there is too much to see here, so we extended our stay a few more days.  Stay tuned!
